We are pleased to inform you that the call for applications is now open for the Fifth International Scientific Conference:
“Georgia and the Caucasus - Past, Present, Future”
The conference will be held on October 22–23, 2026,
in Tbilisi, at the University of Georgia.
The conference is organized by:
- The Tamaz Beradze Institute of Georgian Studies at the University of Georgia
- The Center of Georgian Studies at Goethe University Frankfurt
- The Support Foundation of Georgian Studies
The aim of the conference is to provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary discussion of the history, culture, and contemporary development of Georgia and the Caucasus region.
Application deadline: May 22, 2026
Sections:
· History, Source Studies;
· Ethnology, Anthropology, Archaeology;
· Philology;
· Culturology, Art History;
· Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy;
· Economy, Business, Low;
· International relations, Geopolitics.
Basic requirements:
· Working languages of the conference: Georgian and English;
· The conference is open to individuals with academic degree;
· The report should contain scientific novelty and should not have been published or presented at another scientific event;
· Abstracts (approximately 300-400 words) should be submitted in Georgian and English languages;
· Online format is available only for foreign presenters;
· Registration Fee of the Conference – 70 GEL (for one author); 50 GEL (for co-authors).
Important dates:
· Deadline for abstract submissions – May 22, 2026;
· Notice of receipt of abstracts – June 12, 2026;
· Deadline for registration fee payment – August 28, 2026.

Additional information:
· The electronic versions of the accepted abstracts will be published on the website of the conference;
· The selected papers after the double-blind peer review will be published in the Proceedings of the conference.
